Milan Club of NJ

About Us

History

The Milan Club of NJ was founded in 2008 as an authorized supporter of the world-renowned AC Milan soccer team that plays in Series A in Italy.

Mission

Our goal is to expand the appreciation of the Italian culture in North NJ by offering a unique and diverse program that add value, such as youth soccer programs as well as provide social activities, fellowship, Italian arts and culture.  These activities will provide growth and stability in the club and creating a safe and comfortable environment for all our members, volunteers and supporters.  This atmosphere provides opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Historical timeline

Our current clubhouse located in Totowa, NJ, the Milan Club of NJ has branched out and expanded our services to include several youth teams which have competed in and won league titles in New Jersey premier leagues as well as high profile regional tournaments. We also had an over 30 men’s team that played in the Garden State S.L. for a few years.

Inception of Club: When we started the club, trips to Italy were arranged twice per year to see either derby games vs Inter or other top Series A clubs like Juventus or Roma.

Since Inception: We have a women’s group which acts as the backbone for our fundraisers as well as our annual special event of the year – the MCNJ Dinner Dance held in March, when we try to bring a former player or someone from the AC Milan front office as a guest of honor or possibly Man of the Year recognition award.

Since Inception: We have an annual Christmas party that encompasses all or our programs which raise funds for area residents who are less fortunate.

2016: We have supported relief efforts to raise funds for earthquake victims in central Italy

2012-2013: We had an Italian language school on premises, taught by one of our members to enrich those that wanted to learn the Italian language.

2014-2016:  We provided access to our facility to an Italian organization from Scotch Plains, NJ which taught Italian to children under 5.
